Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Secures property rooms and lockers; secures firearms in gun racks and valuables in the safe Organizes and transports auction items 
  • Monitors movement of property by updating the computerized records management systems to reflect property location, shelf and status
  • Assist the Court Bureau in the distribution of property upon the completion of criminal court cases
  • Conducts audits of inventories and maintains monthly inventory of firearms
  • Releases, returns or destroys property as directed by the officer in charge of the case, or according to prescribed procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned 
Prerequisites:
  • Post secondary degree/diploma in a related field, or the equivalent training and experience
  • Experience organizing inventories 
  • Working knowledge of court processes
  • 1-2 years’ experience with record-keeping
  • Ability to implement procedural and statutory requirements in relation to property secured through criminal investigations and other police activities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to multi-task, adjust priorities, and work in a fast paced and demanding team environment 
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of Police procedures and the Police Services Act will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
Salary Range:
  • $54,467 - $57,843
