Summary of Responsibilities:

Secures property rooms and lockers; secures firearms in gun racks and valuables
in the safe Organizes and transports auction items

Monitors movement of property by updating the computerized records management
systems to reflect property location, shelf and status

Assist the Court Bureau in the distribution of property upon the completion
of criminal court cases
-
Conducts audits of inventories and maintains monthly inventory of firearms
-
Releases, returns or destroys property as directed by the officer in charge
of the case, or according to prescribed procedures
-
Performs other related duties as assigned
Prerequisites:
-
Post secondary degree/diploma in a related field, or the equivalent training
and experience

Experience organizing inventories
-
Working knowledge of court processes
-
1-2 years’ experience with record-keeping
-
Ability to implement procedural and statutory requirements in relation
to property secured through criminal investigations and other police activities
-
Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Ability to multi-task, adjust priorities, and work in a fast paced and
demanding team environment

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Hazardous
Materials Information System

Familiarity and working knowledge of Police procedures and the Police Services
Act will be considered an asset

Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
